Murder mystery board games are a bit of an oversaturated niche these days, making it hard to find ways to stand out. Most of these board games are geared towards that spooky autumnal vibe, while Season of Slaughter highlights elements of every season, making it perfect to play year-round.
The gameplay itself is also boundless, as it focuses more on roleplay than typical board game mechanics. These two factors make for a game that lends itself to many more hours of fun than others on the shelf.
When illustrating the game board, I tried to add elements that could be used in the storytelling aspect of the game. For example- maybe the killer's motive was the roped off chest, and maybe their weapon was a broken wine glass.
